Alterscience emerges to question central ethical aspects of culture, proposing a philosophical confrontation of scientific and technological directions and their likely socio-political consequences.
Alterscience perceives scenarios resulting from extreme rationality, a scientific process devoted to uninterrupted and unchallenged cruelty, destruction, war, and death. The denunciation of this pseudoscience creates the conditions for Alterscience to emerge on the horizon of the possible, in the mind and spirit of present man.
Alterscience absorbs energy that continually drives the evolution of consciousness, reperceiving, recognizing, and reinterpreting animistic, human, natural, cosmic, and artificial forces.
Alterscience intends to illuminate human consciousness so that new projects can be designed and built aimed at human vivification, identity reformulation, and continuous planetary regeneration.
It transforms and enlightens, turning the reality of the underworlds of misery, exploitation, and violence utterly unbearable. At the same time, it instills in the mind renewed forces to rethink the functions of thought, visuality, science, and art.
The proposal for Alterscience and an ensuing Praetervisual Art was construed from spirituality, poetry, imagination, and intuition, not from scientific methodologies. Furthermore, it confronts scientific paradigms as the proper tools to provide an understanding of forces and presences that act and inform mind, matter, and society.
It aims to encourage the understanding, the acceptance, and the visuality of intangible realms. It advances the concept of the praetervisual, understood as the mind vision that unveils the presence of a spiritual dimension.
Praetervisual Art intends to investigate subtle processes of our human dimension in which images and forms naturally present themselves before our mind or through mindfulness, meditation, and active imagination techniques.
Praetervisual art can only be exercised through a mental vehicle that can uncover, capture, and presentify archetypes of luminous light-enhancing energy.
To move forward and form a wide culture of Praetervisual Art, we need new structures and paradigms to understand and act on an Episteme of the unknown.
